About Us
The Kalinga Child Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 2022 by the late Mrs. Rowena "Rina" Marchand, RIP, to help Central One Elementary School on Luzon Island in San Carlos City, Philippines. These children, aged 10-14, face challenges beyond their academic studies. In fact, nearly 8% of students struggle with hunger so severely it affects their ability to attend school and focus on their education. Hunger impairs children’s ability to concentrate and learn. It also causes higher dropout rates, lower literacy levels, and lower income in adulthood. Hunger is not only a result of poverty, but also a cause of it.
When you donate to the Kalinga Child Foundation, you enable these children to receive breakfast and lunch, books, and supplies, tutoring and mentoring that will enhance their learning and improve their grades.
The Kalinga Child Foundation believes that education is a right and a tool for fighting poverty & empowering communities.
That’s why the Kalinga Child Foundation provides nutritious meals to children who would otherwise starve or skip school. These meals not only satisfy their hunger, but also stimulate their brains and inspire them to learn.
